How to Play

Web Manual - Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone (7)

1. Difficulty / Song Name
2. Life Gauge - Depending on the game play, it will go up or down. Once it's drained, it's game over. It will not go down when 'SAFETY' is being displayed.
3. Score
4. Melody icon
5. Target icon - There are a few variations on the Melody and Target icon. Detailed explanations will be on the next page.
6. Clear Gauge - Displays the current completion point. 'BORDER': Clear 'G': GREAT 'E': EXCELLENT

Melody icons will move across the screen during the rhythm game. Players must press the appropriate button on the controller when a melody icon overlaps their target icon. By doing so, the Clear Gauge will fill up. Getting the gauge above the completion point (shown as BORDER) will clear the song. If the player makes timing mistakes or enters incorrect commands, the Life Gauge will be reduced. It's game over once this gauge is completely drained.

Target Icon and Timing Bar

When the Timing Bar is straight up, the target icon will overlap with the melody icon. Time it perfectly and press the correct button.

Web Manual - Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone (125)

In addition to the global lag adjustments you can perform via the Options menu, you can also make small adjustments on a per-song basis.

To adjust the song-specific timing, pause during the rhythm game by pressing the OPTIONS button, and selecting Options from the menu. You can adjust that song's lag by changing the "Song" value, or change the global value by adjusting the "Shared" value.

Note that if you adjust the lag values during gameplay, your score will not count for the remainder of that song, and will need to reset the song or choose a new song.
